Giving Thanks
Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving. It's not as big a deal as American Thanksgiving, fitting in with the Canadian mentality in general. We eat, we drink, we sit. There is no 18 hour shopping marathon on Thanksgiving Friday or suicide-inducing collection of family members flying from all corners of the world to annoy each other over stuffing..we save that for Christmas.
Anyways. I thought I'd just post a few things that I am thankful for this lovely fall Tuesday. I am thankful for red wine, with all its antioxidants, tasty flavonoids and gum disease-fighting power. I am thankful for cranberries and their remarkable antibacterial prowess. I am thankful for the peaceful, peaceful sleep bestowed by tryptophan-rich turkey. I am thankful for butter, with its heart disease fighting CLA and the super starch of potatoes that allows for a serious release of happy hormones like serotonin. I am thankful for pumpkins, with all their beta carotene and tasty tasty fiber. I am thankful for pi(e); circles just wouldn't be the same without it. But most of all, I am thankful for elastic waist pants.

So am I.
