New shades of British Racing Green

Mini_cooper_banner_2

Just the other day I was dreaming about getting a 2002 Tbird and painting it green. Enviro green that is. Looks like Martin Boughtwood, Printed Motors Limited’s MD, read my mind (from World Car Fans):

“Until now, most electric vehicles have been little more than souped-up milk floats, limited by range and speed, with compromised performance. For those with a green conscience who also value an enhanced motoring experience, there is still something missing."

So they took a BMW Mini, fiddled with its innards, and made it all sound like a breeze:

"We simply took a standard BMW Mini One, discarded the engine, the disc brakes, the wheels, and the gearbox. These components were replaced by four of our electric wheels, a lithium polymer battery, a large ultra capacitor, a very small ICE with generator (so small it almost fits alongside the spare wheel), an energy management system and a sexy in-car display module.”

The result is a hybrid that's got some serious balls and kickass gas mileage. Aw yeah. It's got a top speed of 150 mph and can get up and go from zero to sixty in 4.5 seconds (it gives the porsche Carerra a run for its money). All this with 80 mpg city driving. Here's to coveting the new Mini QED in its gorgeous shade of British Racing Green. I want.

I want, too.

Oo me too. ME TOO. Gimme.

Sorry to be a downer here, but any indication of how much this lovely green road demon's gonna cost? Methinks a REALLY pretty penny. Oh sigh. All the really STYLISH environmental stuff is for the rich...I am still waiting for the government grant to help buy me an electric race car (I mean if they do it for solar panels and hybrids..why not gimme $200,000 to save the environment at 140 mph?)

Hence 'gimme' rather than 'sell to me'........

meu site... queria que avaliassem e dessem opinioes!

The change of our climate is, is not natural

I feel like a fog, not that it matters. I've pretty much been doing nothing , but eh. Today was a loss. I haven't gotten much done for a while.
