There are many reasons in life to not be hostile. At best, it merely inspires hostility in other people and stops you having friends. At worst, it will get you a punch in the mouth. And, it damages your lungs. Well, it might. A US study has suggested that middle aged men who are angry and aggressive have depleted lung function. The theory is that anger and hostility affect hormone processes that disrupt the immune system, causing chronic inflammation that
damages tissue. Or these men could have crap lungs and be pissed off about it, hence hostile... Causality and correlation at work again... But either way, don't be hostile. Your friends and family will thank you. And your lungs might too.
