When you think Canada, you think trees, mountains, rivers, oceans, polars bears and beavers, right? What about teenagers contaminated with PCBs, the world's favourite pesticide DDT and carcinogens like benzene? Yummy.
In a whopping study of 5, yes 5 families, spread across the country, researchers from a Toronto-based enviro group found toxic chemicals in all seven kids tested. Of course I'd like to see exactly what the concentrations were - not that any level is good. I mean there's mercury in my tuna but I still heartily enjoy a salad nicoise, if you catch my drift.

Interesting, but far far far too tiny study.

More detailed information about the study can be found here - This article has links to the study as well as a more in depth discussion of the findings and what they were trying to accomplish. Although the sample size was small, there's no reason to think that the results aren't more widespread.
