The wise Fermilab folk got 7th graders to draw pics and descriptions of scientists before and after a visit through their hallowed halls.
Ashlee writes before the tour:
Scientists live in their own world and the rest of society puts them there.
As does Angela:
She is a very simple person . . . simple clothes, simple house, simple personality.
And after:
A scientist is a male or female that enjoys learning about the Earth and its contents.
And Eric gets straight to the point:
Actually, they are just people who ask and answer questions.
